Marquette Theatre to present ‘Silent Sky,’ March 12-21

Feb. 12, 2021

silent sky posterMILWAUKEE — The play Silent Sky will be virtually presented by Marquette Theatre Friday, March 12, through Sunday, March 21.

Based on the inspiring true story of Henrietta Leavitt — a brilliant astronomer who lived through the height of the Suffragette Movement — Silent Sky illuminates a woman’s struggle to succeed in the male-dominated world of science.

As women are pushing for social progress, Leavitt strives for scientific progress and the recognition that should come with her discoveries.

Progress is not without personal cost, but Leavitt finds it worth the sacrifice to be part of unlocking the secrets of the universe.

A live version of the show was previously recorded and will be available for streaming to ticket holders — who will be given a special event passcode — beginning at 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 12, through 11:59 p.m., Sunday, March 21.

Tickets are $12 and are available for purchase online through Marquette Theatre’s online box office service
