Institute for Women’s Leadership at Marquette to host panel discussion, ‘Title IX: Reflecting on 50 Years and What’s to Come’

IWL leadershipMILWAUKEE — The Institute for Women’s Leadership at Marquette University will host a panel discussion, “Title IX: Reflecting on 50 Years and What’s to Come,” on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 3 p.m. at the Alumni Memorial Union, 1442 W. Wisconsin Ave.

Registration is free, open to the public and available online.

The panel will be moderated by Dr. Chris Navia, vice president for inclusive excellence, and will feature Megan Duffy, Marquette head women’s basketball coach; Kali Murray, professor of law; Kristen Kreple, Marquette Title IX coordinator; and Dr. Jeff Ramsey, historian and author of “Big Men On Campus: Administrative Response To Title IX And The Development Of Women's Sports In The Big Ten Conference, 1972-1982.”

Navia will lead a conversation into Title IX with the interdisciplinary panel to explore the history behind the act, what Title IX has looked like over the years and what it can mean for the future.
