Brad SchimelMILWAUKEE —Hon. Brad Schimel, state circuit court judge and candidate for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, will be the special guest for the next installment of the Marquette University Law School Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education’s “Get to Know” program series on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 12:15 p.m. at Eckstein Hall, 1215 W. Michigan St.

The Lubar Center will host both candidates on the April 1 ballot, with Hon. Susan Crawford joining for a Get to Know program Friday, Feb. 28.

Schimel has served in many roles in the legal system, including, since 2018, as a Wisconsin circuit court judge in Waukesha County and, 2015–19, as the state’s attorney general. He began his career as a prosecutor in the Waukesha County District Attorney's office and was elected to three terms as the Waukesha County District Attorney. Schimel will discuss his background, priorities in this race, and how his experience will shape his approach to the office he seeks.

Through public programming such as the Marquette Law School Poll, “On the Issues” conversations with newsmakers, public lectures by leading scholars, conferences on issues of public significance, and the work of its Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education, Marquette Law School seeks to advance civil discourse about law and public policy matters.
