All members of the University community have a right to bring forth information that helps support an environment of safety and support. Accordingly, any act of retaliation taken against another is a serious violation of University policy. Retaliation is defined as any adverse action (including but not limited to retaliatory harassment, threats, vandalism, unauthorized or unwelcome contact, or other harmful behavior) taken against a person participating in a protected activity because of their participation in the protected activity. Retaliation against an individual for reporting an incident, supporting an affected party, or otherwise participating in the student conduct process is a serious violation. Students wishing to make contact with such parties in advance of their hearing should do so only through the conduct administrator.
