The Marquette Parent Program, in collaboration with Marquette educators, offers resources to parents and guardians of current Marquette students. These initiatives support student learning by:
New Student and Family Programs offers four special events specifically for incoming students and their families, to help them prepare for their transition to Marquette. Winter Orientation, in January, is an optional program for new freshmen and transfer students admitted for the Spring semester. Preview, in June, is an optional program for new freshmen and their families. New Student Orientation, in late August is a mandatory program for new freshmen and transfer students and begins on move-in day. Family Orientation, in late August, is an optional program for adult family members and siblings of new students, and begins on move-in day.
Family Weekend is an annual event open to family members of all current Marquette students.
The New Student and Family Programs staff includes administrators and students with a passion for supporting students and their families through important college transitions. In addition to our full-time staff, we work with over 100 student leaders each summer, who comprise Orientation Staff (nicknamed “O-Staff”).

Orientation Planning Team
The Orientation Planning Team is comprised of four undergraduate students who spend their spring and summer planning a fun and educational experience for new students and family members through Preview and New Student and Family Orientation.
