Service

Marquette University has a strong tradition of service within the community. New Student Orientation will help welcome you into this tradition on Saturday, August 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Teams of students, accompanied by an Orientation student staff member, will engage in various community service projects throughout Milwaukee.

Participating in Urban Connection is not only a great way to learn about service at Marquette, but also a way for you to make a difference in your new community and meet many of your new classmates. The first 300 students who register will receive an Urban Connection T-shirt. Please complete the registration form and liability waiver (coming soon) and return it to the Office of Student Development by August 8, 2008.

Volunteers engage in a wide variety of service projects. For example, you may do community clean-up work, painting, renovation work, or recreational activities/outings with community members. All work materials will be provided, but volunteers are encouraged to dress accordingly.
