On October 6, 2022, the Marquette Center for Data, Ethics, and Society and the Center for Cyber Security Awareness and Cyber Defense presented a Symposium on Ethical Hacking as part of our October Cybersecurity Awareness Month activities. This event was presented in partnership with SIM Wisconsin.

The morning included conversations and networking on ethical hacking and the importance of teaching cybersecurity concepts as a foundational component of all computing and information professionals' training.

The featured presentation was "Teaching and Leading with a Security-First Mindset", by Olivia Liddell (Amazon Web Services).

Olivia Liddell is a Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services, where she specializes in AWS solutions for game development. Over the course of her career, Olivia has created innovative teaching and technical training solutions for learners from diverse backgrounds and skill levels. She is a Certified Ethical Hacker and frequently speaks on topics such as social engineering, security awareness, and mentoring. Olivia is a former Chicago Public Schools teacher and is currently the Chairperson of the Chicago Teacher Residency Alumni Network Board.
