Human Performance Assessment Core (HPAC) is a state-of-the-art, fee-for-service lab for the evaluation of health and fitness for any population. We have services for the novice to the elite, and for individuals, coaches and scientists. We are a resource in fitness testing to the greater southeast Wisconsin region. Clients include triathletes, research participants and people on a path to better health/longevity, as well as performance testing for Olympic hopefuls.
The HPAC is the "little sister" site of the AHPRC (Athletic and Human Performance Research Center) but all the athletic testing is done through the HPAC.
Change starts with knowing where you are now. Learn about tests for yourself or team on the services page to assess health and fitness to guide your training and support lifestyle changes. Common testing for fitness and performance include: VO2 max, lactate threshold testing (bike or treadmill), body composition (including DXA), strength and power testing, biometrics and more.
The HPAC provides expertise, facilities and equipment to collaborate with scientists from any field. As a member of the Clinical and Translational Science Institute of Southeast Wisconsin (CTSI), a consortium of academic and research institutions in Milwaukee, the HPAC is a Translational Research Unit (TRU) for exercise and health testing.
Interested investigators can contact Toni Uhrich, HPAC Director.
HPAC supports Marquette and the College of Health Sciences by training the next generation of scientists and health care providers. Students in their junior and senior years may apply to an internship in the HPAC where they will learn a variety of skills related to clinical and performance testing. Original research projects are encouraged, though interns will have exposure to existing research.
