Marquette Business professor named one of best undergraduate business professors by ‘Poets & Quants’

Dec. 19, 2022

Kristie RogersMILWAUKEE — Dr. Kristie Rogers, associate professor of management in Marquette University’s College of Business Administration, was featured among Poets & Quants for Undergrads’ 50 Best Undergraduate Professors for 2022.

Selections were chosen from over 500 nominations of business faculty from students, alumni, colleagues, and deans, and were chosen by the Poets & Quants editorial staff on criteria such as research and teaching accolades. The 50 winners represented 39 schools and included 30 women—the most-ever for this list.

“This an exciting and tremendous honor for Dr. Rogers, and the college could not be prouder of her,” said Tim Hanley, acting Keyes Dean of the College of Business Administration. “What she has been able to accomplish through her research and teaching style is both aspirational for younger faculty and representative of Marquette Business’ accomplished and experienced educators.”

From Poets & Quants’ announcement:

Her research focuses on respect and identity at work and is published in top management journals including Academy of Management Journal, Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Review, Organization Science and Journal of Applied Psychology. She is the winner of the Outstanding Published Article in Positive Organizational Scholarship award from University of Michigan’s Center for Positive Organizations, a Best Paper Award from the Academy of Management’s MOC Division, and an Anti-Racism Research Grant from the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. She serves on the editorial review boards of Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management, and Journal of Applied Psychology.

Practice-oriented articles have been published in Harvard Business Review, MIT Sloan Management Review, and UC-Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center. She’s appeared on numerous podcasts including HBR’s “Ideacast,” the Wall Street Journal’s “As We Work,” and “Voice of Influence.” Notable features and media mentions include the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, TED’s “WorkLife with Adam Grant” podcast, Network for Business Sustainability, and Business Insider.

She is the 2022 winner of the college-wide Brennan Master Teacher Award based on her past ten semesters of student evaluations. She was also honored as a 2022 Marquette University faculty all-star.

“Professor Rogers’ teaching was extremely impactful on the way I approached conversations and negotiations within different situations,” said Jonathon Silvers, a senior professional sales major. “Specifically, as a student going into the sales field, I learned many different ways to interact with others because of her courses. Not only was the content excellent, but Professor Rogers’ teaching style gave students newfound confidence inside and outside the classroom. Going into job interviews, I was much more confident than ever before—and that is what I think is most important about college courses. If I had the opportunity to take more classes with Professor Rogers, I would!”
