Distinguished Alumna of the Year Award
Helene Steinmiller Fearon, PT ’78
Helene Fearon has done as much for the profession of physical therapy as she has done for the patients who visit her private practice. Her tireless national advocacy has raised the profession's profile and helped improve the way physical therapists are paid for their services.
Professional Achievement Award
Dr. Todd J. Duellman, Arts ’95, H Sci ’97
Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.
Dr. Todd Duellman's path to medical school and becoming an orthopedic surgeon included exploring undergraduate studies in pre-dental and business before settling on Spanish, then completing a master's in physical therapy. He says the vast knowledge base prepared him well for his career.
Dr. Stephanie Treffert Lumpkin, H Sci ’10
Dr. Stephanie Treffert Lumpkin came to Marquette as a temporary transfer student from Loyola University New Orleans, displaced by Hurricane Katrina. After deciding to remain at Marquette, she created a way for her new school and classmates to help the southern city she loves.

Eric H. Buchl, H Sci ’00, ’01
Eric Buchl was in the first class of Marquette’s accelerated program in physician assistant studies.
