Ignatian Year Leadership Co-chairs

The Ignatian Year Planning Group will consist of six teams formed with faculty, staff and students across the university that will work to implement and share the themes of the Ignatian Year in our everyday lives on campus.

Communications Team

Members

Responsibilities

  • Oversees relating information to the campus community.
  • Creates space (web and social) to hold and share resources across groups.
  • Helps build momentum and excitement for the Ignatian Year. Creates buzz.
  • Helps with individual event publicity and registration.
  • Fosters campus environment.

Classroom Engagement Team

Members

Responsibilities

  • Gathers faculty and those supporting them (CTL/MCCS) to identify and create resources that can be integrated into the curriculum.
  • Connects the Life of Ignatius, Ignatian Pedagogy and Ignatian Spirituality to the life of faculty and their teaching experience.
  • The third Universal Apostolic Priority is to accompany youth in creating a hope-filled future. This team helps create resources and opportunities for faculty and staff to live out that apostolic priority in their position at Marquette.

Student Development Team

 Members

Responsibilities

  • Connects the Life of Ignatius, Ignatian Pedagogy and Ignatian Spirituality to the life of staff and their experience.
  • The third Universal Apostolic Priority is to accompany youth in creating a hope-filled future. This team helps create resources and opportunities for staff to live out that apostolic priority in their position at Marquette.
  • Identifies and creates resources that can be integrated into the residence halls.

Event Team

  • Sue Nieberle, Director of Development, Klingler College of Arts and Sciences and Mission and Ministry, Advancement
  • Dr. Jen Reid, Director of Student Affairs Assessment, Communication and Student Government

Responsibilities

  • Identifies ongoing events and integrates the Ignatian Year into them.
  • Compiles an ongoing list of Ignatian Year events for the Ignatian Year website.
  • Builds collaborations on special events we want to add for the year.
  • Creates signature events that would bring the campus community together and mark the Ignatian Year.

Equity and Inclusion Team

Members

Responsibilities

  • Builds collaborations on special events we want to add for the year.
  • Ensures opportunities for all through cultural awareness, communications and representation.
  • Seeks to ensure fair treatment, equality of opportunity, and fairness in access to information and resources for all.

Solidarity and Outreach Team

Members

Responsibilities

  • Seeks local and global partnerships and collaborations.
  • Ensures focus on social justice work.
  • Creates awareness of  the marginalized.
  • Seeks to build bridges for the underrepresented, underprivileged or undervalued.
