Service and Prevention
With a combined philosophy of service and prevention, the Marquette University Police Department is dedicated to maintaining a safe environment conducive to learning, living and working at Marquette. More than 80 trained professionals and sworn officers ensure the safety and security of campus and the surrounding neighborhood 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
For Students
To receive MUPD safety alerts, as well as weather-related closing information, enroll in the university's emergency text messaging system by entering your cell phone number in the "Personal Information" section of CheckMarq.
For Parents
Safety alerts are posted to the MUPD's Twitter account. The program Marquette uses to send safety alert texts to students does not allow parents to sign up to receive alerts directly.
For Faculty and Staff
Those with university-owned cell phones will automatically receive text alerts. Faculty and staff without university phones can opt in to receiving text alerts from the university by registering their personal phone number in the "Personal Information" section of MyJob.
