Meet Your 2026-2027 MUSG President & Vice President
MUSG is excited to announce the election of Jacob Ricard as President and Rae Dakins as Vice President for the 2026-2027 academic year. Throughout their campaign, they emphasized a commitment to enhancing student life, expanding access to resources and strengthening the relationship between students, the university and the greater Milwaukee community. Their platform focuses on creating improvements that support students both inside and outside the classroom.
In the year ahead, their priorities include enhancing campus life through new traditions and programming such as a Marquette Traditions and Campus Experience Series and weekly “Market Mondays.” They also plan to expand student resources by advocating for updated attendance policies, increasing access to affordable food and health services and improving the student organization finding process. Also, they aim to strengthen connections with the Milwaukee community by partnering with local businesses and museums to provide student discounts and co-hosted events.
Additionally, their platform emphasizes sustainability, inclusion and student advocacy through initiatives such as expanded compositing and recycling efforts, increased access to prayer and reflection spaces and support for students observing religious practices. They are also committed to increasing student voice in university decision making by creating more structured opportunities for input on major policies. As they prepare to take office, their goal is to build a more connected, inclusive and responsive campus environment, and MUSG looks forward to supporting their leadership in the year ahead.
