High School Scholarship Program
The Air Force offers highly competitive scholarships to pay for tuition and books. A monthly stipend to cover additional school expenses is also awarded to each scholarship winner. High school scholarship types are listed below. To be eligible for a high school scholarship, you must apply online at the AFROTC website. The application generally opens up by July leading into your senior year and closes in the beginning of January of your senior year. High School Scholarship Types
- Full tuition and most fees (4 years)
- Private and public schools
- Tech and non-tech majors
- Monthly and book stipends provided
- Up to $18,000 per year toward tuition and fees (4 years)
- Maximum of $9,000 per semester or $6,000 per quarter
- Tech and non-tech majors
- Monthly and book stipends provided
- Covers in-state tuition for public universities
- Can be converted to a 3-year Type 2 scholarship at private schools
- Tech and non-tech majors
- Monthly and book stipends provided
Monthly Stipends
- $300/month for freshmen while school is in session
- $350/month for sophomores while school is in session
- $450/month for juniors year round
- $500/month for seniors year round
Book Stipend
- $900/year for books, divided into payments for two semesters or three quarters
