Dave Leigh Scholarship

dave old_new

David Leigh has been an athletic trainer since 1975 with a career that spans the gamut of athletic training experiences spanning local, regional, national, and international levels.  Dave became the Head Athletic Trainer at Marquette University in 1984, where he was a positive influence on the lives of student-athletes, athletic training students, faculty, staff, and coaches around him.  He impacted the profession of athletic training most by being its biggest advocate on all stages.  Dave went on to teach at Marquette in the Athletic Training program, where he influenced every Marquette AT graduate to excel in exemplary practice.

This award is made to honor Dave's legacy at Marquette by ensuring support for the type of individual who is pursuing a career in athletic training and demonstrating advocacy and dedication to this profession in a manner Dave would be proud of.  Marquette MAT students can apply for the Dave Leigh Scholarship in their second year of the professional phase of the program.  Applications are available from the Program Director of the MAT, and awarded on a completitive basis.
