Job Responsibilities

• Oversee programming and events operations for comprehensive Campus Recreation facilities, including but not limited to Wellness + Helfaer Recreation facility, Rec Plex, Norris Park and Employee Wellness Center, ensuring alignment with student development and wellbeing goals.
• Serve as primary scheduler for all reservations with Campus Recreation facilities. Partner with wellness offices (Counseling Center, Health Promotion and Medical Clinic), Athletics, internal/external stakeholders, and on/off-campus groups to coordinate recreation activities and schedules in Wellness + Helfaer Recreation facility, Rec Plex, Norris Park, Employee Wellness Center and Valley Fields. Maintain an updated master calendar of all activities and work closely with other Campus Recreation staff to schedule facility use.
• Coordinate facility maintenance and cleaning needs through Facility Planning & Management. Submit and track completion of work orders, maintain a daily cleaning schedule, and coordinate special cleaning services.
• Maintain marketing and promotional materials for all areas of Wellness + Recreation (WR), including setting facility hours and posting related facility signage.
• Manage all outreach requests and share final requests with WR outreach group. Set and uphold clear guidelines and expectations for facility use.
• Support ensuring compliance with risk management policies, promotion of the EAP, and AED placement and upkeep.
• Oversee loading dock shipping and receiving, ensuring deliveries are distributed to locations throughout Wellness and Recreation.
• Support purchasing supplies and submitting related expense reports for purchasing card.
• Responsible for the supervision of student employees which includes but is not limited to hiring, training, disciplinary actions, ending the student's assignment, etc. This includes oversight of event and operations student-staff.

PERSONAL

Derrick previously served in the role of graduate assistant at Marquette University Campus Recreation. He is excited to continue his professional career as a full-time staff alongside the team he had grown to love over the course of his masters degree. In his free time, Derrick enjoys playing indie video games and the occasional triple-A title. Derrick is a fan of table-top RPGs and boardgames, and he'll never turn down the opportunity to play Catan or Ticket to Ride.
