Working as a student employee for the Office of Engagement and Inclusion and our partner office, The Center for Community Service, is a great way to get involved on campus. There's a variety of different positions, including office assistants, program interns, and program assistants.

The Office of Engagement and Inclusion (OEI) seeks dedicated, committed individuals who are willing to exercise leadership and make an impact on the Marquette campus community. Each year hundreds of programs and services are designed by students and staff of OEI to encourage active student involvement, foster a lifelong ethic of service, and enhance student leadership. YOU can help make those things happen! In addition to the opportunity to make a difference on campus and in the surrounding community, the Office of Engagement and Inclusion also helps student employees gain excellent job skills and experience - leadership, communication, teamwork, critical thinking, problem solving, program development, and the opportunity to meet and interact with diverse populations.

Office of Engagement and Inclusion Positions


Program Intern for Sorority and Fraternity Life

Responsible for assisting the Sorority and Fraternity Advisor with all aspects of advising the chapters and governing organizations which comprise the sorority and fraternity community, including information management, promoting sorority and fraternity activities and enhancing the leadership development, scholarship, and service goals of fraternities and sororities. Program Intern for CEI Programs and Services

The Program Intern (PI) position is a student position in the Office of Intercultural Engagement, which includes the Center for Intercultural Engagement and the LGBTQ Resource Center, designed to provide students with programming and event planning, coordination, and implementation experience. The position also offers students an opportunity to learn more about the Catholic-Jesuit value of human dignity and social justice, while also fostering an appreciation for diversity and inclusion in a global context. The Program Assistant will also work closely in connecting first generation students and students from underrepresented racial, ethnic, gender, sexual orientation, sex, and religious communities to campus resources. Further, the Program Assistant will assist students in having engaging and interactive relationships regarding diversity and inclusion at Marquette and in their respective communities. Program Intern for Late Night Programming 

The Program Intern (PI)  for Late Night Programming is responsible for assisting with the creation and implementation of Late Night programs at Marquette University. The Program Assistant for Late Night Programming is responsible for developing a comprehensive calendar of Late Night events, reserving event and publicity space, working with entertainers and agencies to book entertainment, and collaborating with the Program Assistant for Late Night Marketing to promote Late Night programs. Approximately 10 hours/week, $8.60 per hour.Learn more about the Late Night programming job description.


Program Intern for Leadership Programming 

Responsible for assisting with creating and implementing a leadership development programming at Marquette, including the development of leadership publications, the collection and maintenance of leadership resources and assisting in the design and presentation of leadership programs, seminars, and workshops. Program Intern for LGBTQ+ Resource Center 

The Program Intern for the LGBTQ+ Resource Center is responsible for staffing the Resource Center, event programming and success, and contributing to the mission of the Resource Center and Office of Engagement and Inclusion. Students will learn more about the Catholic-Jesuit value of human dignity and social justice, while also fostering an appreciation for diversity and inclusion in a global context. The PI will create and engage with interactive connections that celebrate diversity and inclusion at Marquette and within our respective communities. Office hours required for event preparation and some night and weekend availability needed, approximately 6-10 hours per week, $8.60 per hour. Social Media Program Intern for Peer Engagement Programs - Center for Engagement and Inclusion 

The Social Media Program Intern (PI) position is a student position within the Office of Engagement and Inclusion (OEI); the open position will specifically be situated within the Center for Engagement and Inclusion (CEI). This position is designed to provide students with engaging online content and student outreach, specifically with first-generation students and students who participate in RISE, the multicultural pre-orientation. The PI will work closely in connecting first generation students and students from underrepresented communities (racial/ethnic, gender, sexual orientation, religious, etc.) to campus resources. The PI will assist students in having engaging and interactive relationships regarding diversity and inclusion and first gen promotion efforts at Marquette and in their respective communities. Program Intern for Student Organizations 

The Program Intern (PI) for Student Organizations is a student staff member in the Office of Student Development and participates as a member of the CLSI Team. Supervision is provided by members of the Campus Activities and Student Involvement staff. The Program Assistant for Student Organizations is responsible for assisting with the management of the 300+ registered student organizations, maintaining communication of important information to all groups, and implementing organizational development programs. Office Assistant 

The Office Assistant is responsible for greeting and directing customers, answering phone calls, processing mail, making photocopies, entering data and completing additional duties as assigned. Additionally, this person will create publicity for events hosted by the Office of Engagement and Inclusion. Approximately 7-10 hours/week from end of August to first week of May $8.60 per hour. Program Assistant for Community Service

Responsible for assisting with all aspects of implementing a comprehensive community service program, including planning and facilitation of campus-wide community service programs, transportation, volunteer recognition, reflection training, educational programs and outreach to community service organizations and community agencies.
