  • During my first year on campus, I’d like to connect with as many people as possible, both within biological sciences and beyond, initiate collaborations with other departments, and start to build a network of strong diverse mentors, collaborators, and friends.
  • I’d like to connect with colleagues interested in social behavior, effects of social environment on behavior (philosophy, economics, psychology), applying social behavior dynamics from ecology and evolution to non-traditional systems, like bacteria, cancer, materials, etc., and outreach in the Milwaukee community. 
  • I’d like to learn more about health insurance, other health resources – gym, dentists, physical therapy, retirement, how Marquette works to make Milwaukee a safer and more equitable place, COVID plans for Fall and beyond, partnerships with nearby universities, and scholarships for underrepresented students, especially in the Milwaukee community.

  • During my first year on campus, I’d like to begin introducing students to some interdisciplinary methods of literary analysis. This includes investigating the relationship between literary representations of the environment and broad movements in politics, philosophy, and aesthetics. I’d also like to find ways to correlate my teaching and research with community service.
  • I’d like to connect with colleagues interested in working with interdisciplinary methods in the humanities. I’m particularly interested in multimedia subjects and the intersections of science, medicine, politics, philosophy, and literature. 
  • I’d like to learn more about Ignatian pedagogy and how/where the university extends its academic knowledge to local communities.

I hope to establish a reparative and restorative framework in my teaching and service, especially one that benefits communities historically affected by injustices.
  • I’d like to connect with colleagues interested in ethnic studies (United States and French context), postcolonial studies, film and media studies, and comparative literature. I am an interdisciplinary scholar eager to learn about the research projects emerging out of Marquette University.
