  • During my first year on campus, I’d like to get writing! I'd like to see how my students are staying connected to the world during this crazy time and how we can continue to make those connections through stories. Throughout the pandemic we’ve encountered illness, droughts, fires, floods and murder hornets – life that feels so surreal at times that we seem to be part of an apocalyptic movie. It’s changing how we write, what we write, and who is doing the writing we read.
  • I’d like to connect with colleagues interested in everything. I want to soak it all in. 
  • I’d like to learn more about opportunities to interact with the Marquette community and the community surrounding the college. I’m excited to be a part of life in Milwaukee!

  • I’d like to connect with colleagues interested in increasing diversity in STEM, seeking funding for underrepresented students in research and those interested in addressing perinatal mental health in the surrounding community. 
  • I’d like to learn more about the students, outreach with the surrounding community and plans to increase diversity amongst students, faculty, and staff.

  • During my first year on campus, I’d like to engage in meaningful discussions with students, colleagues, staff, and administrators about race- and immigration-related topics, particularly through my Racial and Ethnic Relations and Latino/a Migration courses. Coming from Florida, I am also excited to explore Marquette and the surrounding Milwaukee area!
  • I’d like to connect with colleagues interested in race/ethnicity, immigration, gender, sexuality – anything really. I love learning about others’ classes and the research topics they are passionate about. 
  • I’d like to learn more about the students at Marquette, campus organizations, and the broader city of Milwaukee. I love when students discover how the material we discuss in class manifests in their own community, and often engage in community-based projects in my sociology courses.
