Welcome to the Office of Engagement and Inclusion!

The Division of Student Affairs is pleased to introduce the newly formed Office of Engagement and Inclusion (OEI). Under the leadership of Demetria Bell Anderson, who will serve as the inaugural director, this office will house the Center for Engagement and Inclusion (the former CIE) and the LGBTQ+ Resource Center. In addition to Anderson, the OEI team will include 6 professional staff members, 7 graduate assistants, and 2 administrative support staff who will guide divisional efforts in the areas of the following:

Consistent with our mission, the Office of Engagement and Inclusion was created to ensure that ALL students are engaged and that inclusive practices are interwoven throughout our work. In addition, as professionals we remain committed to developing our cultural competence. In Jesuit education, we speak of changing hearts and minds, and these structural changes demonstrate how we intend to reach our goals doing just that by intentionally creating an inclusive campus environment.

The unit is located on the garden level of the Alumni Memorial Union. The outcomes of situating these areas into a single office will allow for greater intentionality with programmatic and service-provided collaboration and an awesome opportunity to enhance the student engagement experience.
