Description
Help us cultivate a culture of teaching and learning at Raynor Library! As the Collaboration and Teaching Assistant, you will help librarians lead ENGL 1001 workshops and collaborate with campus partners to promote support for foundational courses. Responsible for fostering a positive, student-centered learning environment, you are tasked with adapting and tailoring support to individual student needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support English 1001 Foundations in Rhetoric workshops in collaboration with librarians in the Research, Teaching & Learning (RTL) department
Collaborate with RTL librarians to support other large-enrollment courses
Liaise between Raynor’s Library Connect Team and Library Service Desk Assistants to support students’ research skill development, staff competency getting patrons started with research, and a culture of collaboration and mutual support
Participate in meetings with Library Service Desk Assistants to share what you’ve learned from workshops
Collaborate with Library Services Desk supervisors to offer training for Library Services Desk staff

Qualifications
Libraries are vibrant community organizations that respond to the needs of their members. Students from diverse cultural backgrounds, students who are first-generation, and students on federal work-study are encouraged to apply. The following qualifications will help you succeed in this role:
Final grade of B or higher in ENGL 1001 Foundations in Rhetoric, HOPR 1955H Core Honors First-Year Seminar, or equivalent course
Must have completed at least two semesters at the undergraduate level at Marquette
Good academic standing
Comfortable navigating databases and research guides
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to foster a positive learning environment, tailoring support to individual student needs
