Service Learning Program: The Center for Teaching and Learning is home to the nationally recognized Service Learning Program. Service learning is a type of experiential learning that engages students in service within the community as an integrated aspect of a course. The pedagogy allows students to learn in practice what they are learning in theory in the classroom. A wide variety of community-based projects and placements are available as well as opportunities for community-based research. Faculty interested in incorporating this community-based pedagogy into their classes are encouraged to schedule an appointment with the program director, Kim Jensen-Bohat.
