Marquette celebrated its first National First Generation College Celebration in 2019 on November 7 with the following series of events to honor our first generation students. More details will be made available for the 2020 celebration soon!

First-Gen Day Support Buttons are available to members of the First-Gen Student Network. If you would like buttons sent to your department to wear on November 7 and November 8, please email the Office of Engagement and Inclusion with the desired quantity.
“But first, FAFSA!”
Raynor Library, Beaumier D, 8 a.m. – Noon
Counselors from the Office of Financial Aid will be available to answer questions help you start completing your FAFSA for next year.
Keep in mind, some grants have limited funds. File your FAFSA early to ensure maximum eligibility.
Things to bring:
- Your FSA ID and password
- 2018 Federal Tax Return and W2s.
- 2018 Untaxed Income Records, such as child support or veteran’s non-education benefits
- Information on savings, investments, business assets and farm assets (if applicable)
- Driver’s License (if you have one)
- Cell phone (if you have one)
- Social Security Number
- Alien Registration Card or Permanent Resident Card (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
- Date of birth for parents
- Month and year of parents’ marriage, divorce or separation

Pizza with the Provost Featuring First Gen Trivia
First gen students, faculty, and staff are all welcome to join in on a pizza lunch and friendly game of First Gen trivia hosted by Dr. Ah Yun. Faculty and staff allies please come and show support! Students on the winning team will receive gift certificates to the Book Marq.
This event is hosted by the Office of the Provost in conjunction with the Office of Engagement and Inclusion. Please contact Clara Dwyer, Assistant Director of the Center for Engagement and Inclusion, with questions.
Do-Nut Stress First Gen Craft Night
Grab a friend and come eat donuts and do some crafts with Alfie the Late Night gnome! What better combination of fun? All students are invited to this free event!
