Kuali Research, is Marquette University’s electronic system for proposal submission, research compliance and grants management. Provided by KualiCo, it is designed to simplify and streamline application submission, award processing, and grant administration for the university and provide a central web-based repository of proposal, award and other information.
All external grant applications submitted by Marquette University Faculty and Staff will need to be developed and approved through the Kuali system as of July 1, 2018.
The Kuali Proposal Development module allows Investigators to prepare and route their grant applications electronically for institutional approval, and in some cases submit directly through the system. Faculty and staff who are submitting applications will need to go into the system to initiate the application and complete a few basic steps. With the help of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP), budgets will be developed and proposal documents will be uploaded. When the application is substantially complete the proposal is submitted into routing for electronic review and approval.
The routing process, including having substantially complete documents, must begin a minimum of 3 business days before the sponsor deadline. Following approval, the proposal is either submitted by ORSP or the Investigator is notified that she/he can submit to the sponsor.
