Our work is focused on developing a better understanding of the articulatory impairments resulting from brain injury in order to improve assessment and treatment techniques for people with speech and swallowing disorders.
We are currently conducting accuracy and precision experiments with the NDI - Wave System. The Wave is an electromagnetic tracking system that records movements of small sensors attached to the tongue, lips and jaws.
We are exploring applied techniques for "resynthesizing" the speech of individuals with motor speech problems.
