Campus Recreation Advisory Committee

As a member of the Campus Recreation Advisory Committee (CRAC), students will collaborate, discuss, challenge each other, and come to solutions with their peers.  The CRAC will provide recommendations to the Pro Staff on policies, procedures and staff concerns.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Discuss Policies & Procedures for Campus Rec student-staff
  2. Committee members serve various areas of Campus Rec and bring relevant topics to CRAC meetings
  3. Staying up-to-date with Campus Rec information, and relaying information to their teams
  4. Present relevant information to Pro Staff
  5. Host meetings for all staff to attend
  6. Plan and facilitate new staff onboarding


Meetings and Compensation

  1. CRAC meets bi-weekly for one hour each
  2. CRAC meetings are paid
  3. CRAC will meet in Campus Rec Conference Room, 111

Size

The committee shall be compromised of 12 members

Representation

Each area of student employment should have a representative (11) and an at-large members

-2 from Building Staff (1 RS & 1 MS/OS)
-2 from Intramural Sports
-1 Lifeguard/Aquatics Staff
-1 Group Fitness Instructor
-1 Personal Trainer
-1 Marketing or Social Media Assistant
-1 Student Service Technician
-1 Norris Park Supervisor
-1 Graduate Assistant (Chair of the committee)
-1 At-Large Member

If extenuating circumstances and an area does not have a representative, students from other areas may be added to get to a full 12-student committee

Application/Nomination Process

-Pro Staff that supervise these positions should elect the person serving on this committee as they see fit (nominations, elections or similar)

-If a person leaves or is terminated, Pro Staff can determine procedures for filling role, or leaving vacant until next semester

Length of Membership

Two year maximum

Dates

-Nominations submitted to Advisor by: April 1
-CRAC selected by: May 1
-First Meeting: First week of classes

Removal

  1. Missing two (2) Advisory Committee Meetings
  2. Accumulating strikes with role at Campus Rec
  3. Other disciplinary actions

    Must be an exceptional student-staff that holds themselves to a high standard and maintain integrity
