Our Vision Statement

In the tradition of St. Ignatius, we believe God, who creates all out of love, invites each person into relationship and partnership in furthering God’s dream for the world. Our vision is to support our faculty and staff in their interior journey, whereby they encounter God’s transformative love, understand who they are called to become, and gain greater clarity on their life’s purpose and passions. Such a journey helps them discern how their gifts, talents, and abilities contribute to the Jesuit’s mission in Higher Education. This interior journey leads them to become sources of hope, joy, light, and life for our Marquette and broader community. Hence, they truly can live out the Ignatian ideal of “Contemplatives in Action” in their life and work at Marquette.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support each faculty and staff member's unique search and relationship with the Holy. We accomplish this by providing opportunities for them to cultivate their spiritual growth and learn about the richness of Ignatian Spirituality and the spiritual journey.

Our Ministry

In an open and inclusive way, we fulfill this mission by offering the Spiritual Exercises, other retreats, spiritual direction, times of prayer and reflection, faith sharing groups, lectures, workshops, seminars, immersion experiences, scripture studies, reading groups, and book discussions. We collaborate with offices within the Mission and Ministry area, across the university, the Marquette Jesuit Community, and Gesu Parish to further our mission and the mission of Marquette University.
