Marquette Volunteer Corps

COVID-19 Update: As our agency partners adapt to virtual learning and safety precautions, Marquette Volunteer Corps is paused for Fall 2020. Instead, our team has been pouring our energy into the NEW MU Tutoring Hub, which will support K12 learners in a virtual environment. We encourage you to join us!

Marquette Volunteer Corps is a semester-long opportunity for Marquette students to volunteer in a meaningful way, building relationships with community members as well as their peers.

MVC volunteers join a team of 5-7 members that volunteer together every week for a semester. Each team is situated around an issue area, such as education, homelessness, literacy, etc. You'll spend the semester serving with your team and learning more about the issue, Milwaukee, and yourself.

Choose an issue area you care about. See our sites.

Join us for information sessions at the beginning of each semester. If you are unable to make it to either of these information sessions, contact with any questions you may have.

Expectations of Volunteers

Volunteers are expected to commit to volunteering every week for an entire semester, so plan ahead for your other responsibilities. We understand that schedules get busy, so one absence per semester can be discussed with your Team Leader. We also have monthly reflection which we ask volunteers to attend to reflect on service experience and how we can creat more equitable and inclusive community.
