About the Plan
Through a visionary strategic plan that sets in motion a clear strategy for the future and an ambitious campus master plan that serves as a road map for capital projects, Marquette University is poised to go Beyond Boundaries.
The university has identified five strategic priorities to help us achieve Beyond Boundaries. Each priority aligns with one or more of the Strategic Plan Themes.
Support undergraduate student retention, graduation, and first destination outcomes, including increasing the six-year graduation rate and the year 1-2 retention rate.
Themes: Pursuit of Academic Excellence; Culture of Inclusion; Formation of Hearts and Minds
Increase research and development expenditures and federal funding of research and advance interdisciplinary research communities and partnerships, among them, research initiatives in water resiliency; poverty in the greater Milwaukee community; and COVID-19 in southeast Wisconsin.
Themes: Research in Action; Social Responsibility
Expand student market share, enhance financial aid packages, and increase excitement as we introduce a new admission notification date in December in place of rolling admissions.
Themes: Pursuit of Academic Excellence; Culture of Inclusion
Expand our portfolio of online, flexible, and blended/hybrid program offerings, evolve our graduate programs and grow accelerated degree programs -- all to meet the emerging expectations and demand of students
Theme: Pursuit of Academic Excellence
Continue to ensure faculty and staff levels are aligned with student needs and enrollment, ensure strategic spending controls, make the best and highest use of our space as part of the campus master plan, and focus fundraising momentum to advance our greatest needs.
Theme: Sustainability of Valuable Resources
