Originally from the Chicagoland suburbs, Katie attended Northern Illinois University where she earned her bachelor's degree in biological sciences while competing as a Division I softball student-athlete. Following her undergraduate studies, she earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Prior to PA school, she worked as an in-home caregiver for individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities throughout the Madison area. She also gained clinical experience as a medical assistant at a private dermatology practice in the Chicago area.

Katie's passion for emergency medicine was discovered during her clinical rotations in PA school, while working in a rural critical-access emergency department. There, she was inspired by the emergency medicine providers who delivered high-quality care to patients during some of the most challenging and vulnerable moments of their lives. Their commitment to serving the community solidified her desire to pursue a career in emergency medicine.

Outside of medicine, Katie enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, attending sporting events, and staying active outdoors.”
