Kristina Sit, PA-C: Postgraduate Fellow

Kristina Sit, PA-CKristina Sit grew up in St. Louis, MO and received her Bachelors degree in Biology at Truman State University. After college, she spent one year serving as an Americorps volunteer in St. Louis. She then spent two years as an emergency department scribe at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. She then obtained her Masters degree in Physician Assistant studies at Marquette University.

Her interest for practicing emergency medicine stems from both her experiences through Americorps and as a scribe. During her Americorps service, she served as a case worker for a transitional housing program, working with the low-income and marginalized population. That year, she developed an all-consuming life commitment to live simply, continue serving the underserved population, and to constantly discuss and reflect on issues of social injustice. She then went on to work as a scribe in the emergency department and fell in love with the fast-paced, constantly challenging, and diverse medical environment. This experience served as a good foundation for her clinical experience; however, after rotating for 12 weeks in the emergency department during PA school, she recognized that to be the best physician assistant, she would greatly benefit from further training through a fellowship program.

She chose Marquette's fellowship program, as it aligns well with her goals; there is a heavy focus on providing medical care to the surrounding diverse and impoverished community. She wishes to be a part of their movement to provide high-quality, just, and respectable care to a population diverse in race, culture, and socioeconomic status. She also has a great desire to improve her clinical skills and gain informative and unique opportunities through her experiences at different emergency and elective departments.

Outside of the residency program, Kristina enjoys anything related to food from cooking to exploring new restaurants in Milwaukee. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family, enjoying coffee at a local coffee shop, and nerding out about environmentalism.
