Skype for Business, used for voice calls and chat, is installed on all university-owned computers and laptops. Your university office phone number is already linked to Skype for Business.

Note that Skype for Business is not the same as Skype, which serves the consumer market.

Skype for Business can be easily reached by adding a shortcut to the Windows 10 taskbar, which is the bottom strip of your screen.

1. On the taskbar, place your cursor in the "Type here to search" box. Type skype. 
   
   
   
   
2. The results list Skype for Business as a match. Note the Skype consumer app may also appear in results; do not use it.
   
   Click or tap Skype for Business to open it.
   
   
   
   
3. Skype for Business opens and its icon appears on the Windows taskbar. Right-click (or long press and release for a touchscreen) on the Skype for Business icon.
   
   
   
   
4. A menu appears above the Skype for Business icon. Select Pin to taskbar.
   
   
   
   
5. Skype for Business is pinned to the taskbar. If you exit Skype for Business, the shortcut remains on the taskbar as pictured below.
