What is Wellness?
“Wellness” is not just the absence of disease. It is the active ongoing process of becoming aware of and choosing health-promoting behaviors that help you reach your full potential. It is a dynamic process of change and growth.
I’m already healthy. What does wellness have to do with me?
Wellness matters. Wellness matters because everything we do and every emotion we feel relates to our well-being. Maintaining an optimal level of wellness is absolutely crucial to live a higher quality life. It is important for everyone to achieve optimal wellness in order to subdue stress, reduce the risk of illness and ensure positive interactions.
How do I achieve personal wellness?
Wellness is achieved through an active series of personal choices that not only helps prevent disease and injury, but increases energy and resilience to stress, smoothing the path to academic and life success.
Personal wellness is composed of eight dimensions but a simpler way to think about it is MIND, BODY, SPIRIT.
