Milwauking Retreat

Saturday, April 13, 2019

Rain date: April 14, 2019

“The retreat allowed me some time to count my blessings and reflect on the year and the upcoming summer to see where God is in my life and where I need to seek him more. I definitely get a sense of community on retreats, everyone is so open and accepting. It felt as if I had known everyone for a long time by the end of the day.”
- Retreat Participant

For millennia, people have walked in search of community, answers, and meaning. Follow in their footsteps in the Milwalking retreat, a retreat on the go that explores Milwaukee streets and sites while meeting fellow walkers and reflecting on one’s own personal journey.

Over the course of the day, we’ll travel through the city, stopping at a coffee shop here and a church there (the exact route changes from year to year). This student-led retreat will feature talks and activities at each stop and great conversation en route. In the midst of all the walking is a relaxed and laidback atmosphere; ultimately, the day is about taking a walk with friends and recognizing God’s presence there, too. You can expect to meet new people and come away with new insights about your own journey so far.

Open to:

All students, undergraduate and graduate, of the Marquette community.

The retreat will begin in the Chapel of the Holy Family in the Alumni Memorial Union, continue through Milwaukee, and end back on the Marquette campus. We plan to walk about 5 miles total.

Meet in Chapel of the Holy Family at 8:30 am. The retreat will end at 5:30 pm.

$10, which covers lunch, snacks, and retreat supplies. Financial assistance is available; contact Sara Knutson for more information.

Registration for the Milwalking retreat is now open. Click here to register. Registration will close on Sunday, April 7 or when the retreat is full.
