Undergraduate Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of our undergraduate program, all students will be able to:

  • Understand the fundamental principles that apply to all physical systems.
  • Construct mathematical models of physical systems and evaluate their intrinsic limitations.
  • Measure characteristics of physical systems employing best practices and safe techniques.
  • Evaluate measurement error using statistical analysis techniques.
  • Demonstrate computational literacy in the context of data analysis and modelling

Students who have completed a major in Physics will be able to:

  • Write competitive applications for graduate school and technical job opportunities.
  • Apply physics principles to solve real-world problems.

Students who have completed a major in Applied Physics will be able to:

  • Demonstrate competency with targeted engineering subject matter.
  • Apply coursework to practical experience in a specific, targeted field.

Students who have completed a major in Biophysics will:

  • Be prepared for medical school and MCAT exams
  • Be familiar with field-specific instrumentation and its applications
