Writing tutors to present research at international conference

Four undergraduate tutors were selected to present their research at the upcoming National Conference on Peer Tutoring of Writing. The conference, to be held in Orlando in October 2014, will meet jointly with the International Writing Center Association. The tutors invited to represent Marquette include:

  • Kim Baker, Junior, Biological Sciences. "The Role of Praise in University Writing Centers."
  • Kate Hauslauden, Sophomore, English and Spanish. "Linguistics of Self Expression"
  • Emily McCormick, Junior, English. "Grade School Wisdom: The Role of Outlining in the Collegiate Writing Process." (with Alex Rucka)
  • Alex Rucka, Junior, English and Classics. "Grade School Wisdom: The Role of Outlining in the Collegiate Writing Process." (with Emily McCormick)
