The college welcomes family members, friends and guests to celebrate the achievements of their graduates. This ceremony recognizes undergraduate and masters degree candidates. Doctoral students are recognized at the all-university morning ceremony at Fiserv Forum.

Graduation FAQs

How do I order my cap and gown?

The deadline to order your cap and gown was April 13, 2019.  Please contact the University Special Events Office at 414.288.7431.

 

Undergraduates may retain or recycle their “Renew” cap, gown, and tassel. These keepsake gowns are produced from recycled post-consumer plastic bottles.

Master's candidates return apparel after the college ceremony at the Al McGuire Center to designated locations.  Tassels may be retained as a keepsake if desired.

When and where is cap and gown pick up?

Tuesday, May 14 from 10:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, May 15 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
AMU Marquette Place 2nd Floor

If a graduate is unable to pick up his/her apparel, a friend or relative may do so. Information needed includes the graduate's name, degree, height and college.

When and where do I pick up my tickets?

Each graduating student (undergraduate/graduate) will receive five (5) complimentary tickets for his/her family.  There will be no additional tickets available.

Students can pick up their tickets from the College office (Sensenbrenner Hall, Suite 103)
April 23-26 between the hours of 8:30 a.m.
and 4:30 p.m. MUID is required.

How long does the ceremony last?

It typically lasts two (2) hours.

How do I receive my diploma?

May 2019 graduates will receive their diplomas immediately following the ceremony.

If you completed your degree requirements in December 2018 or will complete them in August or December 2019, you will need to contact the Office of the Registrar regarding diploma pick up.

Seating

Doors will open at Noon and seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Seats for guests needing special accommodations are located around the perimeter of the arena at the main level.

Ushers will be present and on site to assist families and guests.

Parking

Marquette University parking structures and lots will be open and available to families at no charge. Street parking around campus is another option.

Printed graduation announcements will be available for purchase in March at Marquette's Spirit Shop. For personalized and semi-personalized announcements, please visit Jostens website.

When and how should I apply for graduation?

The graduation application deadline has passed, please contact the College Records Office with any questions.
