Salt & Light

February 15-17, 2019

This year’s Salt & Light retreat will focus on Mary and the saints, those role models and friends who have been part of Catholic tradition from the beginning. Through student talks and prayers, this retreat will give you an opportunity to reflect on the courage of Mary, be inspired by the canonized saints, savor the ordinary saints in your own life, and rejoice in the communion of saints that includes you. You’ll participate in prayer experiences like the rosary, Liturgy of the Hours, and Mass, and you’ll have a small group with whom to reflect on your own perspective on faith and life. The ultimate role of Mary and the saints is to point us toward God—this Salt & Light retreat will aim to do the same.

Whether you’re curious about, confused by, devoted to or intrigued with Mary and the communion of saints, you’ll be welcomed. No pre-existing amount of holiness or knowledge is required! In fact, many of the saints themselves had little or no “Catholic knowledge,” just a desire to take a leap to know and serve God better. So come, grow, learn, and enjoy the friendship of others on this community retreat.

Open to:

Students of any and all faith traditions, both undergraduate and graduate, of the Marquette community.
