October 2018—A new library exhibit, "Changing Shape, Enduring Spirit: The Evolution of Marquette's Built Environment," explores the Marquette experience through the lens of its built environment. The exhibit uncovers subtle but important ways that campus buildings have shaped the university's relationship with the Marquette community and the city. It zooms in on several areas, including the student experience, spirituality, and athletics, and covers more than one hundred years of campus history.
The exhibit was developed by the library's Department of Special Collections and University Archives, drawing on extensive university history collections. Most exhibit images, as well as many others relating to campus history, can be viewed online.
"Changing Shape, Enduring Spirit" will be on display through 2019 on the 3rd floor of Raynor Memorial Libraries. It is free and open to the Marquette community. For more information, contact Katie Blank, University/Digital Records Archivist.
