- Search committee and Human Resources use Opportunity and Challenge Profile to recruit candidates for position.

- Members of Marquette community encouraged to submit candidate nominations.


SPRING 2022

- Search committee monitors candidate pool and works with Human Resources to deepen candidate pool as necessary.

- Search committee reviews candidate pool and identifies semifinalists

- Semifinalist interviews with search committee and Provost Ah Yun.

- Reference and background checks.

- Search committee deliberates and identifies finalists in February 2022.

- On-campus visit for finalists who will interact with a broad range of members of the college and university community in February 2022. All who participate in finalist visits sign Acknowledgement of Confidentiality document.

- Those invited to participate in finalist visits to submit feedback that will be reviewed by the search committee and Provost Ah Yun.

- Provost Ah Yun to meet with search committee to receive recommendations on finalists.

- Provost Ah Yun and President Lovell to extend offer to a finalist.

SEPTEMBER 2021


- Provost Kimo Ah Yun invites Dr. Deirdre Dempsey, associate professor of Theology, to chair search committee.



OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 2021

- Provost identified members of the search committee from a broad set of stakeholders, including a member proposed by the Academic Senate, a dean, student, trustee emeritus, member of the Jesuit community, staff and faculty, including representatives of the Libraries faculty and staff.

- Provost Ah Yun announced composition of search committee.

- Provost Ah Yun met with search committee and delivered charge.

- Search committee had a launch meeting and scheduled listening sessions.

- Search committee meeting focused on best practices with representatives from Human Resources, Mission and Ministry, General Counsel and Institutional Diversity and Inclusion.

- Listening sessions held for faculty, students, and staff across campus and university leaders.



NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2021

- Search committee utilized input from listening sessions to prepare Opportunity and Challenge Profile and recruitment plan.

- Position posted to Marquette University Human Resources website December 7th.

- Opportunity and Challenge Profile shared with college and broader university community December 16th.
