Languages Offered at Marquette

We offer courses in American Sign Language, Arabic, Classical Greek, French, German, Italian, Latin, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish through which students can meet the foreign language curriculum requirement in Arts and Sciences and other colleges. Learn more

Dr. Todd A. Hernández, Professor of Spanish, just published an article "Explicit Instruction for the Development of L2 Spanish Pragmatic Ability during Study Abroad" in the journal System

Dr. Enaya Othman, Associate Professor of Arabic, recently published an article, "Palestinian American Women and Marital Choices Across Generations" in the Journal of American Ethnic History. 

Dr. Barry Velleman (Emeritus, Spanish) just published new research on Argentinean feminist Juana Manso (with Prof. Karina P. Belletti). Read their work here: Juana Manso. El derecho a vivir una historia de amor.

Dr. Eugenia Afinoguenova, Chair and Professor of Spanish, was recognized in Milwaukee Art Museum's press release published by ArtFix Daily. The article recognizes three projects funded by a Marquette University Explorer Grant. Read about it here. ¡Enhorabuena!
