It is a requirement of the co-op program that the student’s work experience must be technical in nature and provide the opportunity to apply their engineering knowledge and skills. The program is intended to help the student clarify their career goals, increase their performance and engagement in the classroom and begin building their professional network.

Students must complete a self-evaluation at the end of each co-op work term to receive credit. Employers are also asked to complete a student performance evaluation. At the completion of each work term, students should complete the work exit report and employers should evaluate student performance when filling out the employer evaluation.
