Student Web Developer

Pay: $10.00/hour

Work hours: M-F, 8am-5pm

Hours per week: 10-15

Description

Come be a part of a service- and project-oriented team providing cutting-edge library information technology to advance the teaching and research missions of Marquette University. The person in this position will provide web development and programming support for the libraries’ websites and web projects, including processes and services for web publishing and hosting support out of the libraries’ Digital Scholarship Lab. They may also occasionally perform other Library IT tasks as required.

Qualifications

Required: 

• HTML5 and CSS3 knowledge
• Basic troubleshooting skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
• Willingness to learn new programming and technology concepts

Preferred:  

• Experience with a content management system (ex: WordPress)
• Familiarity with basic design/UI principles
• Experience using cPanel for shared web hosting
• Experience with tech support or tech training
• Interest in web publishing
• Experience in any of the following is a plus, but not required:
  • PHP, Java, or C#
  • XML
  • JavaScript
  • js, Vue.js, or other front-end JavaScript frameworks
  • jQuery
  • SQL or MySQL
