Student Web Developer

Supervisor: Brendan Lenzner

Pay: $11.00/hour

Work hours: M-F, 8am-5pm

Hours per week: 10-15

Description

Come be a part of a service- and project-oriented team providing cutting-edge library information technology to advance the teaching and research missions of Marquette University. The person in this position will help provide web development and programming support for the library's websites and web projects, including web projects out of the library's Digital Scholarship Lab. This person may also handle additional Library IT tasks when needed such as large format printing (poster printing).

Qualifications

Required: 

• HTML5 and CSS3 knowledge
• Basic troubleshooting skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
• Willingness to learn new programming and technology concepts

Preferred (but not required):  

• Experience with a content management system (like WordPress)
• Interest in basic design/UI principles
• Experience with tech support
• Experience in any of the following is a plus, but not required:
  • PHP (or otherlanguages such as Java, C#, Python)
  • JavaScript
