Computer Availability
Check the current availability of on-campus computers available throughout the library.
Laptops
Students, faculty and staff who need a laptop can check one out from one of two kiosks on the first floor of Raynor Library, located near the central stairs. Both kiosks offer Macs and PCs with apps that include Microsoft Office, Matlab, SPSS, and Minitab.
Library Technology Assistance
The Information Commons provides desktop applications for academic purposes. Staff are available at the Library Services Desk to assist patrons with beginning-to intermediate-level questions. Given the number of applications available, the staff cannot provide advanced tech support on a walk-in basis. We will however endeavor to provide referrals or arrange an appointment for you to meet with someone who may be more knowledgeable. Staff will guide patrons, offer advice on methods to maximize application functionality, and perform tasks as a demonstration of a function; however, staff will not complete a patron's work. During busy periods at the desk, priority will be given to short and urgent problems over in-depth training. Patrons who are novices with a software package should allow an appropriate amount of time to become familiar with the package and to complete their own work.
Off Campus Access
There are two ways to use library resources from off-campus: with VPN software provided by ITS, or by authenticating via the Library’s proxy server.
