John D. Laurance, S.J. (Ph.D., University of Notre Dame, 1983), [Systematics/Ethics], specializes in the theology and history of Christian liturgy. He has authored two books ('Priest' as Type of Christ [Peter Lang, 1984]) and The Sacrament of the Eucharist [Liturgical Press, 2012]), edited Introduction to Theology [Pearson, 2000]), and published scholarly articles on various liturgical topics in American and foreign journals.  He is also series editor for Liturgical Press’ Lex Orandi series on the Sacraments, five volumes of which have appeared thus far.

He is currently writing articles on Infant Baptism and on the theological dynamic of the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
