Dr. Javiera Perez Gomez is an assistant professor of philosophy at Marquette University. She works at the intersection of applied ethics, bioethics, and philosophy of race, exploring some of the particular problems that members of marginalized groups face in their interactions with individuals as well as institutions. Her most recent article, “When Is the Promotion of Prenatal Testing for Selective Abortion Wrong?” appears in The Kennedy Institute of Ethics Journal. Dr. Perez Gomez is currently working on refining the concept of microaggressions in order to identify some of the wrongs and responsibilities that arise from microaggressive acts.
