Virtual Cristo Rey Leadership Academy

Marquette University’s Virtual Cristo Rey Leadership Academy is a three-day summer program for rising seniors from the Cristo Rey Network who wish to gain a better understanding of leadership within the framework of the college experience. Throughout the event, students will participate in virtual sessions that encourage them to reflect on their personal leadership styles, provide opportunities to hear from current Marquette students and staff about their experiences and study the importance of leadership within the context of social justice. Students will also discuss how to convey leadership experiences in college applications.

Applications for the program will be available to nominated students and reviewed on a competitive basis. Completion of this application does not guarantee that you will be selected to participate in the program.

Virtual CRLA E-Learning Best Practices

Create or find a quiet space.

This will allow you to focus during the presentations and engage fully with your group during discussions. Make sure your household knows your schedule so you won't be interrupted during any of the sessions.

Be conscious of your technology.

Keep your camera off and microphone muted during presentations. This will help reduce distractions and echoes or mic feedback. During discussions you're encouraged to turn on your video and microphone, but remember to respect your fellow participants.

Think before you speak.

Although you may not see everyone's face the entire time, keep in mind that you should show always respect and attention.

Don't be shy!

You get out of the experience as much as you put into it. Your unique voice, your thoughts are important, so make sure you participate during the discussions.
