What Are Open Access Library Resources?

Access to the online scholarly resources of most university libraries is restricted to enrolled students and faculty because of expensive licensing agreements with commercial publishers.

Scholars and librarians around the globe are beginning to change that through "open access," a movement to make scholarly resources available online, free of charge, and free of most copyright and licensing restrictions.

Raynor Memorial Libraries supports this effort and aims to provide everyone—including K-12 students, Marquette alumni, and the Marquette community—with access to quality publications, reports, and books.
