UAS Resolution AHC-7

A Resolution Implementing University Faculty Committee on Budget and Financial Planning Recommendation #7

WHEREAS, the University Faculty Committee on Budgets and Financial Planning (UFCBFP)’s March 14 report concludes that the University Academic Senate should work with the Executive Leadership Team and the vice president for facilities maintenance and planning to “dramatically increase shared governance practices in the area of major capital expenditures,” and;

WHEREAS, the UFCBFP report indicates that increasing shared governance over capital expenditures should “include direct and impactful involvement by faculty and academic staff in the development of the university’s Master Plan and in the decision-making process regarding specific building projects” as well as “greater transparency and improved communication.” Now therefore:

BE IT RESOLVED, that it is the sense of the University Academic Senate that:

  2. By the September 2024 UAS meeting, UFCBFP should prepare a set of recommendations for this process for consideration by the University Academic Senate.
