Love, Sex and Justice in the South
PhD students Karolyn Burns and Melady Elifritz have been invited to speak on a panel at this year’s Southeastern Women’s Studies Association (SEWSA) Conference on Love, Sex and Justice in the South (3/24-3/26, virtual). The panel Feasting and the Ecologies of Sex weaves together sexual excess under racial capitalism from 16th century Europe, plantations of the American South and our current time. Love, Sex and Justice in the South.

Way Klingler Sabbatical Award
Congratulations to Philosophy's Corinne Bloch-Mullins, recipient of the 2022-2023 Way Klingler Sabbatical Fellowship Award. Way Klingler Sabbatical Award.

Current graduate student Heidi Hildemann is the recipient of the Irene Frances Gyzinski Scholarship fund award. The award is highly competitive and is given to long-term residents of Southeastern Wisconsin who are students of Polish Extraction.

The 2022 meeting of the Metaphysical Society of America was held in person at Marquette on March 24-27.  The conference theme is "Metaphysical Traditions in Dialogue" and featured the keynote address “Always Becoming: Mexica Metaphysics at the Time of the Conquest” delivered by James Maffie (University of Maryland).
